Sponsors Day 2025

A felicitation programme was organised as part of the World Sight Day celebrations, to honour sponsors and social service organisations for their contributions to eye camps.. Dr. R. Kim welcomed the gathering, and R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Senior Manager, Clinical Services, Aravind-Madurai, highlighted the contributions of service organisations and the need to strengthen community eye care services in the future. K.J. Praveenkumar, IAS, District Collector, Madurai, felicitated representatives of various social organisations and volunteers for their commendable service in eye care. Dr. R.D. Ravindran, Chairman, Aravind Eye Care System (AECS), spoke about Aravind’s contribution to eliminating needless blindness. Dr. G. Natchiar, Director Emeritus, AECS, appreciated community leaders for their invaluable support in achieving the mission and vision. Professor K. Gnanasambandan, a renowned Tamil scholar and multidisciplinary expert, delivered a special address, motivating leaders to inculcate eye health–seeking behaviour in their communities. Around 600 participants, including members of various Lions Clubs, social organisations, and volunteers, attended the programme.
