Cataract and Glaucoma are two of the most common causes of impaired vision in the elderly. With changing demographic profile, these ocular disorders continue to be the principal cause of avoidable blindness. Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai is conducting a Symposium addressing basic concepts as well as recent advances in the management of cataract and glaucoma. The scientific sessions are supported by Academic Research Committee of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS – ARC) under the aegis of Madurai Ophthalmologists Association. The sessions, addressed by experienced faculty from Aravind Eye Care System and the ARC – AIOS is designed to meet the varied expectations of the postgraduates and practitioners in ophthalmology and will address the contemporary challenges in diagnosis and management.
