LAICO, 6-8 November 2025

Organised by LAICO, the three-day LEAP ECSO Programme focused on enhancing the quality of cataract care. Day 1 included an observational visit to Aravind Eye Hospital, Dindigul, followed by an interactive session with Dr. R. D. Ravindran, Chairman, Aravind Eye Care System (AECS), on sustaining quality in eye care. Day 2 covered cataract clinical protocols, biometry, sterilisation practices, and group work to finalise hospital-specific protocols. Day 3 introduced the Model for Improvement and strategies to strengthen post-operative follow-up, culminating in group presentations, feedback, and planning of next steps.

Delegates participated from the following hospitals: Lions Eye Hospital, Ghaziabad; Guwahati Lions Eye Hospital, Assam; Aurangabad Chikalthana Lions Eye Hospital, Maharashtra; and Smt. Rajeswari Ramakrishnan Lions Eye Hospital, Andhra Pradesh.

This initiative supported participating hospitals in standardising processes and improving cataract surgical outcomes.
