The Department of General Medicine at Aravind-Madurai organised a CME programme for the Physician Team to create awareness about history taking, systemic examination, and managing emergencies in order to decrease errors and surgery delays.
The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Dr. R. Banushree, Physician, Aravind-Madurai. The Guests of Honour, Dr. R. Kim, Chief Medical Officer, Aravind-Madurai, and Dr. Usha Kim, Regional HR Director, Madurai Region, set the context by highlighting the importance of proper history taking and handling emergencies. Dr. Arun Prakash, Physician, Aravind-Madurai, and Dr. Thoufiq Ahamed, Physician, Aravind-Madurai, shared valuable insights on CPR, medical equipment, and Code Blue procedures. Dr. Mano Prakash, Physician, Aravind-Chennai, delivered detailed guidance on managing systemic emergencies.
The event also featured informative sessions on errors in blood pressure measurement, temperature checking, ECG recording, and ways to avoid such errors. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Sr. Anbujothi, Head Staff Nurse, Aravind-Madurai. The event was attended by over 130 participants, including AOPs, staff members, and doctors
