Exposure Visits
Aravind-Madurai & Aravind-Chennai, 1-2 April 2026
Suchi Mukherjee, Founder & CEO of Limeroad, an Indian e-commerce platform focused on women’s fashion and lifestyle products, along with her colleague Sandeep, visited Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai and Chennai.
Now exploring opportunities in healthcare, they aim to build a new hospital system that transforms complex patient care and delivers consistent, reliable outcomes. Their team is working to redefine incentives, data and technology integration, clinical protocols (with a focus on long-term care), and funding models.
During their visit, they received a brief orientation to Aravind, visited a primary eye care centre and the manufacturing unit, and participated in discussions on outreach activities and the AOP training programme. They also interacted with senior leaders regarding Aravind’s strategic growth plans. At Aravind-Chennai, Suchi Mukherjee met with Dr. S. Aravind.
Aravind-Madurai, 4th April 2026
Parami Dhakhwa, Seva Foundation / Seva Canada Society, Tripureswor, Nepal, and Uma Bharathi, Programme Officer, Seva Foundation, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, visited Aravind-Madurai to attend an in-person workshop on Research Data Management using REDCap software. They extended their stay for three days for an exposure visit. During their visit, they attended a comprehensive eye screening camp, toured the tertiary care hospital, visited a secondary hospital, and also visited the Vision Centre at Gandhigram. They had detailed discussions on LAICO activities and the AOP training programmes conducted across Aravind Eye Hospitals.

Dr. Rizul Naithani, Resident Physician in Ophthalmology from George Washington University, USA, visited Aravind-Madurai for an exposure visit. He toured the hospital facilities, attended a presentation on LAICO activities, and visited the Dr. G. Venkatasamy Eye Research Institute and Aurolab.

The first-year MBA students from Thiagarajar School of Management visited Aravind Eye Hospital and Aurolab as part of their 8-day Rural Development Immersion Programme (RDIP) at Dhan Foundation. A total of 10 students participated in the exposure visit. Prior to the visit, the students watched the Infinite Vision documentary. During the visit, they attended an orientation presentation, toured the facilities, and engaged in a group observation exercise. Syed Ali, Senior Faculty, facilitated the group work during the preparation and presentation sessions.
