The Lions Strategic Planning Workshop was designed to strengthen the service delivery of Lions Eye Hospitals, including Aurangabad Chikalthana Lions Eye Hospital, Maharashtra, Lions Eye Hospital, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Gauhati Lions Eye Hospital, Guwahati, Assam, Smt. Rajeswari Ramakrishnan Lions Eye Hospital, Nidadavole, Andhra Pradesh, and Ranigunj MJM Lions Eye Hospital, Ranigunj, West Bengal. The objective of this five-day workshop was to develop a comprehensive action plan to achieve project goals in key focus areas, including, increasing cataract surgery volume, expanding outreach initiatives (school screening, cataract, and diabetic retinopathy screening), establishing and managing vision centres, and enhancing specialty services. The workshop featured exposure visits, expert-led sessions, and collaborative group work, providing participants with valuable insights and strategies to improve hospital operations. By the end of the workshop, all five hospitals finalised their project goals and committed to implementing their strategic plans, paving the way for improved eye care services in their respective regions.

LAICO organised the 22^nd batch of the “Management Training for Programme Managers” course, attended by participants from eight countries, including Belgium, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Myanmar, Rwanda, and Vietnam. The two-week course enabled programme managers to understand the scope and priorities of eye care service delivery worldwide. It also helped them design needs-centric and evidence-based programmes, including population-specific service delivery, ensure skilled human resources, make informed strategic decisions about the programmes they financially support, and manage changes as programmes grow.
