Dr. R. Venkatesh, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Aravind-Pondicherry, and Dr. Haripriya Aravind, Chief, Cataract & IOL Services, Aravind-Chennai, have been selected by the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation Board as recipients of the prestigious Chang-Crandall Humanitarian Awards 2026. The award recognises their outstanding humanitarian work in the field of cataract blindness and disability.

The Aravind-Pondicherry team secured 3^rd Place Overall among 261 participating institutions at the 36^th Farm Fest 2026, organised by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Puducherry. The Housekeeping and Gardening Team won 11 prizes across multiple garden categories.

The team received three First Prizes for Ornamental Garden, Cacti & Succulents, and Collection of Ferns; four Second Prizes for Medicinal Plants, Kitchen Garden, Floral Arrangements – Japanese Style, and Pot Culture – Bonsai; and four Third Prizes for Collection of Pot Culture – Foliages, Collection of Pot Culture – Perennials, Collection of Pot Culture – Palms and Bamboo, and Millets Rangoli.
