A team from the Confederation of Indian Industry, including the next generation of young leaders from their family business network across India, visited LAICO. As part of their experiential learning programme for emerging leaders of family businesses, they visited Aravind to interact with members representing three generations of leadership. The visit focused on understanding institutional legacy, governance excellence, operational best practices, and value-driven leadership.
Visitors from Peek Vision to LAICO
9-10 February 2026
A team of five members from Peek Vision visited LAICO to understand how Aravind designs, delivers, and sustains effective training programmes, and to learn what works best in trainer recruitment, capability building, and retention.
The visiting team included Grainne O’Neil, Head of Product Training, Peek Vision (London); Grace Mwangi, Programme Monitoring, Impact and Quality Assurance, Peek Vision (Kenya); Cynthia Gape, Training & Support, Peek Vision (Botswana); Chandrashekher Matha, Programme Monitoring, Impact and Quality Assurance, Peek Vision (Bangalore); and M. J. Vighnesh, Training & Support, Peek Vision (Bangalore). They also conducted a workshop to develop a blueprint for a Train-the-Trainer and Partner-as-Trainer model for their Peek-powered programmes
Visitors from Dr. Sasi Eye Care & Wellness Centre, Salem: A One-Day Exposure Visit to Aravind-Madurai and Aurolab

Dr. Sasikumar Devaraj from Dr. Sasi Eye Care & Wellness Centre, Salem, along with a team of ten members, including doctors and administrative management staff from various organisations in Salem, visited Aravind for a one-day exposure programme.
During the visit, the team attended a detailed presentation on Aravind, toured the facilities, engaged in discussions on Aravind’s outreach programmes, and interacted with senior leadership members. The visit concluded with a trip to Aurolab. Overall, the visitors were provided with a comprehensive overview of Aravind’s operational and clinical practices.
Exposure Visit to LAICO
13-14 February 2026
Dr. Shiv Prasad, a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract and refractive surgeon, along with Narendran from Kesava Nethralaya, visited LAICO for an exposure programme to discuss the expansion of their upcoming vision centres.
During the visit, the team attended the Genesis presentation, toured the facility, and visited the Vision Centre at Alanganallur. They also engaged in detailed discussions on various aspects related to vision centre expansion. The programme was facilitated by Mohammed Gowth, Senior Faculty, LAICO, who provided overall guidance to meet their expectations.
A Visitor from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, Ithaca, New York, to Aravind–Madurai

Prof. Sachin Gupta from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, Ithaca, New York, visited Aravind to engage with the teams in detailed discussions related to ongoing research projects. He provided valuable insights and guidance to support the progress of these initiatives.
Visitors from SeeTogether to Aravind
15 – 22 February 2026
David Green, Chief Technology Officer, Stephanie Chen, Founder, and Michael Morton visited Aravind to understand the AOP training programmes, especially in refraction and optical services, as they support similar training programmes in Mongolia.
During their visit, they toured the hospital facilities, primary eye care centres, and the Aravind Medical Research Foundation. They held discussions with the Aurosiksha team and the Refraction and Opticals training teams and had insightful interactions with senior members at Aravind. Stephanie Chen presented SeeTogether’s work at the weekly LAICO meeting, and Michael Morton conducted an interactive session on instructional design for the Aurosiksha team.
