Dr. Nithila E G Paul
Dr. Nithila E G Paul graduated in medicine from Kilpauk medical college, Chennai. She completed her post-graduation from Madurai medical college and Aravind Eye Hospital and Post Graduate Institute of Ophthalmology, Tirunelveli. She has done short term Cataract Fellowship from Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry and Sankar Nethralaya, Chennai. She has also done long term Glaucoma Fellowship from Aravind Eye Hospital, Chennai. She has worked with a few private hospitals in Chennai and has done honorary service at GEMS Hospital, Bihar.
Apart from being a glaucoma consultant, Dr. Nithila is a faculty of the Optometry Fellowship course at Aravind-Chennai. She is involved in training optometry fellows, glaucoma fellows and ophthalmic assistants. She is a certified internal auditor for the Aravind Eye Care System for 2 years and is the chairperson of the Pharmacotherapeutic committee.
Dr. Nithila is also academically enthusiastic and has attended many conferences & CMEs. She has presented a paper, physical poster and e posters at the Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association conference and given a talk at the International Cataract Conference. She has been an assessing investigator of the International Fluocinolone Acetonide in Diabetic Macular Edema (FAME) study. Her awareness talk on glaucoma has been aired on FM radio. She has also organised workshops on instrument maintenance and counselling for paramedical staff.

Dr Nithila E G Paul caters to the outpatient services in glaucoma. She is involved in family screening for glaucoma. She does cataract and glaucoma surgeries. Along with clinical work, she teaches glaucoma fellows.
Dr. Nithila participates in community outreach camps for screening cataracts and glaucoma. She is involved in training optometry fellows and ophthalmic assistants. She is part of the team that is responsible for ensuring quality and safety inpatient care delivery as per NABH standards.
