Dr. Sathya graduated in medicine from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, MS from Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai.  After completed her residency program, she joined as a medical officer in the General Ophthalmology department. After one year stint in Aravind Eye Hospital, Theni she has joined the Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabimus department, Aravind, Madurai since March 2015. Her area of interest is cataract microsurgery, paediatric cataract and strabismus. She is also the out-reach medical officer at Aravind Madurai. She is interested in patient education related activities and also plays an active role in leading the counseling dept. She has presented in various national and international forum including being a instructor at the MSICS wet lab course in ASCRS 2016. She was awarded the Dr.G.Venkatswamy Gold medal award for securing the first rank in the institute during her residency.
