HR Retreat: Beyond the Boundaries

Organised by Aravind-Madurai, the HR Retreat began with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Usha Kim, Regional HR Director, Madurai Region. Dr. R.D. Ravindran, Chairman, Aravind Eye Care System (AECS), highlighted the importance of the retreat, followed by a special address by Dr. G. Natchiar, Director Emeritus, AECS.

The programme featured several sessions conducted by internal members. Thulasiraj Ravilla, Executive Director Emeritus, LAICO, spoke on the role of HR in developmental activities, while R. D. Sriram, Managing Director, Aurolab, delivered a session on “Why TPM and What Made This Possible at Aurolab.” The Kaizen Team also conducted a session on improvement opportunities at Aravind, focusing on staff productivity and efficiency.

Additionally, various sessions presented multiple perspectives from internal members, including Dr. Haripriya, Dr. Padmavathy, Dr. Veena, Dr. Kalpana, Veni, Deepa, Uma Priya, Lakshmi, Sumathi, Sundar Ganesh, and others. The retreat concluded with the presentation of an action plan, followed by closing remarks by Dr. R. D. Ravindran
