Mike Myers Memorial Photography Competition and Exhibition

Aravind-Madurai, 4-7 October 2025

The Aravind Communication Department organised a photography exhibition to honour Mike Myers, an Aravind volunteer and photography consultant who passed away on 4th October 2024. The exhibition showcased portraits of Mike, photographs taken by him, the best works of Aravind photographers, ophthalmology images featured on journal covers, and memorable moments capturing Aravind’s journey. The inaugural event, held on the first day of the exhibition, began with a special address by Thulasiraj Ravilla, who shared his personal connection with Mike and spoke about Mike’s contributions to Aravind. Dr. R. Venkatesh joined virtually and shared memories of Mike’s visits to Aravind–Pondicherry, while Dr. R. Kim highlighted Mike’s dedication and professionalism. The Chief Guest, Bharathy, a professional photographer, shared his experiences with Mike and conducted a session for Aravind photographers. Dr. T.P. Vignesh, Medical Consultant, Retina–Vitreous Services, Aravind–Madurai, delivered a presentation on ophthalmic imaging. Additionally, Aravind photographers presented videos of their best works and reflected on their personal memories of Mike.
