LAICO, 9-10 October 2026

As Part of October Summit  LAICO hosted a two-day national symposium titled, ‘SHIELD’ (Strengthening Health Insurance Excellence through Learning & Development) to address operational challenges and administrative bottlenecks in hospital insurance management. The programme focused on practical solutions to streamline workflows, improve claims processing and reduce payment delays.

The symposium brought together hospital administrators, CEOs and insurance desk executives from hospitals across the country. Guest faculty included representatives from government health programmes, technology partners, insurers, Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), eye hospitals and professional bodies.

The sessions covered evolving corporate and retail insurance trends, regulatory developments and insurers’ perspectives on claims management. Discussions also highlighted the role of digital health initiatives such as ABHA, ABDM and NHCX, along with AI-driven solutions and data security measures, in improving insurance operations. Participants gained insights into effective patient counselling, pre-authorisation procedures and coordination from admission to discharge. Hands-on sessions on claim submission, query resolution, audits and financial reconciliation provided practical strategies to minimise claim rejections and payment delays.
