Dr. Manavi D. Sindal
Dr. Manavi Sindal graduated in medicine from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad, Maharashtra, MS from Seth G.S. Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai University and Fellowship from Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation, Chennai. She has had an outstanding academic course, standing first in the university during her M.B.B.S. and also Post graduation and receiving various prestigious awards like “The Pfizer Medallion in Medicine and Scroll of Honor” and “The Late Smt. Manoramabai V. Gupte Memorial Prize” amongst others.
Following her fellowship, she has been associated with Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry since July 2009. Working along with the institutions mission “To Eliminate Needless Blindness”, has made her an expert clinician & accomplished surgeon. She is well expertise in performing complex vitreo retinal surgeries.
Always an academician Dr. Manavi is continually looking into the publication of rare case reports, evaluating patient data and newer investigative and treatment modalities to help improve patient care. She has 13 peer reviewed publications to date.
She has attended many International & National Conferences and has participated in them with various papers and videos in her field of expertise.
Dr. Manavi has a keen interest in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and along with the institution is making great progress in covering most of the premature infants born in and around Pondicherry. She had the opportunity to be part of two imaging trails, as a grader, thereby gaining insight into the upcoming field of remote fundus imaging.
Being an avid teacher she has participated in various CME programs in medical collages, the Indian Medical Association and has been a resource teacher in the AIOS PG Update.
