In the year 2006, a community eye clinic was established in Tuticorin, a port city 50 kilometers east of Tirunelveli. As the demand increased, a modern facility with major specialty clinics and operating theatre was established in May 2012.

In the year ending March 2022, Aravind – Tuticorin handled over 73,486 outpatient visits and performed 5,789 surgeries.
